The tiny family-friendly town of Forestville lies amid the Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley among beautiful redwood trees, hills, and flourishing vineyards. The town motto is “Where the river meets the redwoods.” Forestville offers a laid-back and slowed-down vibe, but don’t be fooled- there’s still lots too!
When it comes to eating, there are many delicious options in Forestville ranging from burgers, pizza, Italian, Mexican, farm-to-table cuisine, and more. If you’re looking for a classic and delicious burger, fries, and milkshake, Carr’s Drive-In located on Covey Rd right in the Downtown area is a wonderful option. For a more upscale vibe. Backyard also located Downtown offers Californian cooking inspired by local ranchers & farmers, served in a rustic hacienda-style setting. Tiny Town Café is a great spot for some coffee and local conversation.
There are plenty of tasting rooms and nearby wineries in Forestville where you can enjoy local vintage wines. Joseph Jewell is a great Pinot-Noir-focused tasting room with a rustic-chic look located just off of Front Street. Wine Guerrilla is another great tasting room that also doubles as an art gallery making it easy to enjoy beautiful art while sipping on delicious wine.
There are various recreational opportunities in Forestville including access to the Russian River at multiple beaches including Sunset Beach River Park, Steelhead Beach Regional Park, and Mom’s Beach. Also located here is Burke’s Canoe Trips which offers canoes, kayaks, shuttle service, and riverside campsites.
