Sebastopol is a vibrant, creative community. In addition to being the arts and creative hub of West Sonoma County, Sebastopol is a leader in local efforts to address climate change. Sebastopol's special qualities and unique geographical setting attract visitors and residents alike, as well as new commercial and industrial businesses, some with global reach.

Sebastopol is surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards and is only 15 miles from the Sonoma Coast & the Russian River. The Laguna de Santa Rosa is a tributary of the Russian River, and the county's largest freshwater wetlands complex, it's a beautiful mosaic of creeks, open water, perennial marshes, riparian forests, seasonal wetlands, oak woodlands, and grasslands. Visit Florence Avenue downtown for some of the most imaginative sculptures you'll ever see. Local artist Patrick Amtio makes the sculptures from recycled trash and depicts playful, oversized figures that are a delight.
